Our facilitator was able to see and talk with Bogdan on Wednesday. She told him about our plan to come back to Ukraine and try again to adopt him. She said he was very surprised and happy about that. That was good news to hear!
While we rejoice that he still wants to be adopted, we also learned that his foster mother (guardian) and the people at his orphanage are unwilling to press the adoption issue any further with the officials at Children's Services. Our only hope is that we will be able to get an appointment with an adoption official in Kiev that can instruct the officials in his town to release him to be adopted by foreigners. We ask for continued prayer in this matter!
We are looking forward to meeting Liliya's guardian, who will be in the States next week. I never thought I would meet her in person before meeting Liliya, but that is the way it has worked out.
Monday, the 9th, will mark the 7th week since our dossier has been submitted. We are praying to hear some good news next week!
Thanks for your prayer and financial support. It means so much to us.
